How do I become a new member?
We have a variety of ways you can become a member at FBC/Windermere.
By Profession of Faith and Believer's Baptism This is for new Christians
who have asked Jesus Christ to be their personal Lord and Savior
of their lives. You have professed your faith in Christ and want
to be baptized.
By Transfer of Membership If you are a believer in Jesus Christ
and a member of another Southern Baptist Church, then you can join
by transferring your membership from your current church to ours.
We will send for your church letter and notify your church that
you have united with FBCW.
By Believers Baptism If you are a believer in Jesus Christ and a
member of another denomination but have never been baptized by immersion
as an adult believer, then we would ask you to be baptized as a
believer. Believer's baptism is a biblical model for baptism. We
baptize in the church and in the lake at regularly scheduled times.
If you have any questions about baptism, please contact Debbie McCann
or any other staff member.
How do I start the membership process?
There's no right or wrong way, just different opportunities.
You can go forward at the "invitation" at the end of the
service when the Pastor invites those who want to make their membership
here or make a profession of faith. Let him know what you're there
for. If it's to join, he'll connect you with one of our Deacons
or staff members and you'll fill out a blue membership paper. He
will introduce you to the church and state your reason for joining.
At the close of the service, he will ask you to stand in front so
our people can come by and welcome you.
You may also go to the Welcome Center or the answers table and request
a membership form, fill it out and return.
Another way is to join at the close of the Discovering Church Membership
class. The blue membership sheets will be in the center of your
table and someone on staff will collect them and take your picture
for our new member poster. The Discovering Church Membership class
is open to anyone wanting to know more about our church, but is
required as a part of membership here at FBCW. We want our members
to be informed members.
Our desire is to help you become active in the church quickly, because
the greater the time lapse determines the effectiveness for your
opportunity for involvement.
